Guatemala's National Archaeology Museum

I returned a week ago from spending a week in Antigua, Guatemala.  It was delightful.
We took a day trip to the National Archaeological Museum in the capitol of Guatemala City.  The collection of pre-Colombian ceramics and Mayan stone relics was spectacular.
The designs on this pot seem similar to the art in the Desert Southwest of the USA, as well as neolithic Chinese ceramics.  Our tour guide recommended going into Guatemala City only on a weekend to avoid the traffic.  Antigua was a charming town and a UNESCO World Heritage Site because it has maintained is old buildings and character.

The Mayan civilization was strong in Guatemala.

I never tire of Spanish colonial churches.
