Artistic Dublin, Ireland

This sculpture is called "The Wishing Hand" on Marlborough Street in Dublin, Ireland.  The sculptor is Linda Brunker, born in Dublin, Ireland in 1966.  I love public art.  I was surprised to learn that Linda Brunker is the same artist who has created "The People's Council" statue in front of the Laguna Beach City Hall in California where we spend some time each summer.
This sculpture in front of the Trinity College Library is usually called the "Pomodoro Sphere," although its title is "Sfera con Sfera" by Italian artist Arnaldo Pomodoro.   He donated this sculpture to Trinity College.  Similar works by him are featured at the U.N. Plaza in New York, at the University of California at Berkeley, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Tehran, and a sphere twice this size at the Vatican Museum.
The Italianate geology building is next to the library plaza where the Pomodoro Sphere is located.
This classic architecture is part of one of the main quads at Trinity College.
This is a typical street scene in Dublin.  I think it is wonderful that European cities have some streets reserved for pedestrians.
