Fall Colors on Cape Breton Island

I enjoyed the fall colors in Nova Scotia about a month ago. This ivy was climbing the wall of a rural church.
Not all the colors were by mother nature, although it almost seems like a rule of nature that barns should be red.
The colors were just beginning to turn when I was there in early October. We took a drive around Cape Breton Island for several days and the colors were better on the way back than the way there. Just a few days made a difference.
Cape Breton Island is at the northern end of Nova Scotia. There are coves, streams and forests around every bend in the road. The drive around the island is called the Cabot Trail.
No trip to Nova Scotia would be complete without a lobster dinner. The friends who I stayed with at Inn on the Intervale got some local lobsters and prepared them for dinner. My husband was not able to join this trip, as he had too much work at the office. We have resolved to return together in a future year, as it was such a delightful trip.

Looks like Dave missed a terrific trip. Time is fleeting, Dave, next time join Julie and leave the work behind.

The colours are definitely spectacular!! What a treat to have been there and, of course, to have had that lobster meal!!

The colors are really amazing. You captured some great shots as usual. The thought of a fresh lobster dinner makes my mouth water.

I love these fall colours. Having been to New England in the fall I plan to visit Nova Scotia one year and this has whetted my appetite- thank you!
