As we were driving on our safari in Tanzania, we came across this herd of elephants crossing a stream. The size of the bull elephant is indeed impressive, as he makes the other elephants look small.
Hippos are mean by disposition, although this hippo welcomed a bird coming in for a landing.
These pink flamingoes were looking for food in the mud flats on the edge of a lake in Ngorongoro Crater. The lake does not dry up completely in the dry season, so animals can live there year round.
People in Tanzania walk long distances to go to towns and markets, so when a van is available, some people hang on to take advantage of the opportunity to hop on, even if there is no room inside.
The people of Tanzania are friendly and welcoming of visitors.

Would like to go on an African safari once. It must be a different world.

Awesome series.
I love all of your Africa photos. You really did get to see quite a lot.
Great photos. That elephant is huge!
The hyppo and stork shot is fabulous! Not to mention the elephants.
