The Interior of the Palau de la Musica Catalana

The architectural and decorative details of the Music Palace in Barcelona are stunning. It is colorful and ornate beyond description. It was built from 1905 - 08.
This is a view from the street looking up to the outside portico on the second floor. The colorful pillars and railings would make a delightful place to get some fresh air during intermission of a performance.
This is the ceiling of the balcony. It would be a shame if all of the colorful pillars and railings cause patrons to neglect to look at the ceiling.
No part of the Music Palace is too ordinary to be without decorative touches. It is possible to take tours of the building during the day. We went to a Flamenco performance there in the evening. I do not know if they allow photographs during the day. They allowed photos until the performance started in the evening.
The pipe organ, marble statues and columns, and colorful stained glass seem to evoke the design elements of a cathedral.

Gorgeous. I'd have difficulty concentrating on the performance even after the lights went down.
