A boat trip down Lake Como passes quaint towns and elegant villas. This is the bell tower of the the church in the town of Ossuccio, just south of Lenno in the central part of the lake.
This is the boat landing for tours of Villa Balbianello, an elegant villa owned by an Italian department store heir before he donated it to a trust. It was built in the 1780's on the site of an old Franciscan monastery. It was used as the location for James Bond to recuperate in Casino Royale.
This is the traditional type of boat used by fishermen on Lake Como. They can spread a canvas across the top when needed for shelter.
No, this is not George Clooney's Lake Como villa. This villa on the shore of a secluded peninsula in the central lake belongs to Richard Branson.
This dog is enjoying his spot as the lookout on the front of this fishing boat.
One of the many charming towns that ring the shore of Lake Como. We loved Lake Como so much when we visited 7 or 8 years ago that we returned last summer with 13 friends and famly to spend a week. We visited some of the villas, cruised the lake, had a cooking lesson, a wine tasting, and did excursions to visit Lugano, Switzerland and Lake Maggiore.

Wonderful photos, refreshing my memories of a special place. Next time you go back, Dave, you know where to find me!
Beautiful place! I like the dog on the boat.
Wonderful place and pictures.
One of my favorite places. That dog looks as if he has been swimming. Lucky dog.
Terrific series and nice catch of the dog.
So beautiful, it can not be true. And photos are great-great!
Lake Como is filled with beautiful scenery. Architecture, animals and the lake itself is a nice experience. I am planning to go here after our corryvreckan cruising trip. I really want to visit the towns in Lake Como.
